Deposits, cancellations and refunds
What you pay
Lessons are £45 an hour. A block of 10 hours is £420, which works out at £42 an hour.
A £10 deposit reserves your lesson, paid online once I have confirmed it, and it comes off the price. The rest is due at the lesson — I prefer cash, or I can give you my bank details if you would rather transfer, which is what most people do for block bookings.
The deposit
When you ask for a lesson — either through your own lessons page or by asking me directly — nothing is charged straight away. I confirm the time first. Once I have confirmed it you have 24 hours to pay the £10 deposit, and your lessons page shows you exactly how long is left.
The deposit is part of the lesson price, not an extra. A one-hour lesson is £45, so that is £10 online and £35 at the lesson.
You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or straight from your bank account. Payments are handled by Stripe and I never see your card details.
Cancelling or moving a lesson
Please give me more than 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a lesson. Move it and your deposit moves with it; cancel and it comes back to you automatically. With less notice than that I keep the £10 deposit, because the slot is usually too late for anyone else to take.
You can cancel or move a lesson yourself from your lessons page, or just message me and I will do it.
Refunds
Cancel with more than 48 hours' notice and the £10 goes back to the card or account you paid from, automatically — you do not need to ask. It usually shows within a few working days, depending on your bank.
If I have to cancel a lesson, for any reason and at any notice, your deposit comes back in full.

If you do not pay in time
Nothing happens automatically. The lesson is not cancelled and the slot is not given away behind your back — I get told the deposit is outstanding and I will check in with you before doing anything.
